Steele (CSi) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports , two men were injured after one motorcyclist ran into a deer on I-94 east of Steele, Saturday.
Three motorcycles were traveling westbound to Bismarck when a deer ran across the roadway and was struck by 60 year-old Lyle Herman. Herman was thrown from his motorcycle and came to rest in the north ditch. 30 year-old Christof Paul locked his brakes and laid his motorcycle over to avoid striking debris from Herman’s motorcycle.
Herman was transported to Sanford Health in Bismarck for his injuries. Paul was transported to CHI St. Alexius-Bismarck for his injuries. Neither were wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing the investigation.
