Jamestown (CSi ) No structural damage was reported after city crews inspected the viaduct over 4th Avenue Northeast during the 5-p.m. hour, Wednesday.
The northbound lane under the 4th Avenue Northeast viaduct in Jamestown was blocked to traffic early Wednesday evening after an incident involving a semi-trailer rig striking the structure and continuing without stopping.
The mishap led to the closure from 5:21-p.m. to 5:43 p.m. while a crew from the Street Department assessed any structural damage to the viaduct.
Lt. Robert Opp says the investigation is continuing.
Anyone with information on the vehicle involved is asked to call Jamestown Police at 701-252-2414.
Jamestown (CSi) Two individuals have been charged after they were taken into custody following a pursuit Wednesday.
Jamestown Police reports, that 58 year old Charles Barton, of Fargo, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a Class A felony, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement officers and reckless endangerment, Class A misdemeanors.
34 year old Travis Fruetel, of Valley City, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a Class A felony.
The pursuit of a vehicle shortly after 6-p.m., Wednesday.
Police say the pursuit began at the intersection of 18th Street Southwest and Highway 281.
The vehicle being pursued went through the fence of the buffalo pasture, and then the suspects fled on foot, east of Buffalo City Diesel.
The pair were caught on foot, and taken into custody.

Chelsey Francis says as of Tuesday afternoon, 16 teams have registered, and so far, about $62,000 has been raised toward this year’s goal of $85,000 this year.
She adds that on Relay night some teams who will be doing fundraisers:

- United Presbyterian Church: Free Blood Pressure Checks, Chair Massage for Donation, and showing Disney Films

And the Jamestown Mystics will hold a fundraiser with Smoked Ribs by Jack McGregor and fries and Root Beer Floats available from 1 to 7. Italian Tacos will also have a food booth, along with our fine local restaurants. Tables will be available for dining.
The Christian Motorcycle club will be operating a kids fishing game, the Jamestown Downtown Association will have their Pig Races game, the Jamestown Drag Racing Association will operate a big boy trike road race. and the Hanson Tires tire changing competitions are planned. All are free to play.

Valley City (CSi) The Valley City Public School Board Election is Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Voters will elect one at-large position and one rural position.
Ryan Mathias is on the ballot for the rural position up for election and Mike Callahan is on the ballot for the At-large position.
One polling place has been set up for all voters in the district inside the Administration Building located at 460 Central Avenue North. The polls will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Anyone wishing to vote by absentee ballot may obtain the necessary forms and ballot at the Business Office. Voters may vote absentee through Monday, June 12.
The summer office hours at the Business Office are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Police and Jamestown Emergency Service agencies will join Central Valley Health District for Kids Safety Day on June 22 , 2017 at the Jamestown Civic Center, from 9-p.m. to 3-p.m. for children 4 to 14 years old.
Police will hold their bike rodeo as well as helping to set up emergency vehicles for viewing. Other departments participating include the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department, Jamestown Fire Department and Jamestown Ambulance.
Jamestown businesses will provide food. The event runs from 9 AM to 3 PM and is intended for children between the ages of 4 to 14.
Staska says that they also plan to raffle off a few bikes, at no charge to the kids. Kids will write down their name and phone number, place it in the box next to the bicycle they want, and a drawing will be held later in the event.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The American Indian tribe that led opposition to the Dakota Access oil pipeline says it hopes to move away from reliance on fossil fuels.
Standing Rock Sioux Chairman Dave Archambault says the tribe wants to transition to renewable energy, such as wind and solar energy. He made the statement Thursday while accepting an award, but didn’t announce any specific projects.
The Wallace Global Fund, which supports social movements through investments and grants, awarded the tribes its inaugural Henry A. Wallace Award. It’s named for President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s vice president.
The award comes with a $250,000 prize, and the Wallace Global Fund also pledged to invest up to $1 million in renewable energy projects led by the tribe.
MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A Minot woman will serve 30 days in jail for driving while high on meth with her 5-year-old daughter in the car.
The Minot Daily News reports 26-year-old Sydney Pearcy pleaded guilty Wednesday in state court to a misdemeanor charge. In addition to the jail time, she must pay $1,125 in court costs and spend 1 ½ years on probation.
Authorities say Pearcy was stopped by a police officer March 7, and her daughter was unrestrained in the car’s back seat. Pearcy was arrested and taken to jail, where a corrections officer found a meth pipe hidden in her bra.
Pearcy pleaded guilty in city court earlier to driving under suspension and not having her daughter properly restrained. She was given a suspended jail sentence and fined $375.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A woman accused of threatening the family of North Dakota’s lieutenant governor has turned herself in to authorities.
Seventy-nine-year-old Alice Olson made her first court appearance Wednesday in McKenzie County. Bond was set at $5,000 cash.
Olson is accused of showing up at the Watford City home of Brent Sanford last fall and threatening his wife and children. Sanford was mayor of Watford City at the time and was running for lieutenant governor. Court records say Olson is also accused gesturing as if she had a concealed gun.
Olson says she’s innocent of charges. She’s due back in court Aug. 3.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump’s personal attorney says the president “never, in form or substance” directed former FBI director James Comey to stop investigating anyone. That includes former national security adviser, Michael Flynn. Marc Kasowitz is responding to Comey’s Thursday morning testimony, in which the fired FBI director said Trump urged him to drop the Flynn case.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says it has no plans to scale back existing sanctions against Russia. Spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders tells reporters the Trump administration “is committed to existing sanctions against Russia” and will keep them in place “until Moscow fully honors its commitments to resolve the crisis in Ukraine.”
LONDON (AP) — Police have briefly closed off an area of London near Charing Cross station after a suspicious package was found. The Metropolitan Police said Thursday the incident was not related to terrorism.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump has said he wants to do “a big number” on the Obama-era financial rules devised after the Great Recession – and House Republicans are poised to fulfill that goal. The GOP-controlled House is on track to vote for legislation that would wipe away much of the financial law created to head off economic meltdowns like the 2008-09 collapse. Republicans say many of the law’s requirements have harmed economic growth by making it harder for consumers and businesses to get loans.
NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) — An interview with police in which Bill Cosby admits fondling a woman’s breasts and genitals after giving her pills at his suburban Philadelphia home is being read into the record at the entertainer’s sexual assault trial. In the January 2005 interview, the 79-year-old Cosby says accuser Andrea Constand never objected to his behavior.
