Jamestown (CSi) White Cloud Days in Jamestown offers traditional and new events and activities this year, around Jamestown, July 8-9, 2017.
National Buffalo Museum has organized this year’s activities.
On Thursday’s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Director Illana Xinos said, there will be vendors offering Native American items for sale in front of the National Buffalo Museum.
Also new this year is the TRAC (Two Rivers Activity Center) 5-K Run/Walk with proceeds benefiting the TRAC Scholarship Program. More information on line at CSiNewsNow.com
She pointed out that the official Grand Opening of the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse is on July 8th, from 10-a.m., to 4-p.m.
She added also on July 8th, Frontier Village will host activities including Craft/Rummage Sales, Dutch Oven Demonstrations, Buffalo Cupcakes served at 11-a.m., Color Time for Kids, Grilled Buffalo Burgers and $1 ice cream cones from 11-a.m., to 2-p.m., on the 8th, and Bobbing for Apples.
The Ivan Flett Memorial Dance Performance on the 8th from 12:30-p.m., to 2:30-p.m., along with Native American Flutist, Matt Shannandore from 4-p.m., to 6-p.m., at the amphitheater.
Also part of White Cloud Days is the parade, starting at 9:30-a.m. starting from McElroy Park going north on First Avenue, and back to McElroy on Second Avenue Southeast, (The parade will NOT across the railroad tracks).
At McElroy Park, The Jamestown Classic Car Show, along with crafts and vendors.
On July 8th at 7-p.m., Dirt Track Car Races, with the Dakota Classic Modified Tour, at 7-p.m., at Jamestown Speedway.
Highlights on Sunday July 9th include the Interdenominational Worship Service at 9:30-a.m., by Pioneer Ministry at Frontier Village, along with other activities.

Illana also invites the public and visitors to the newly renovated National Buffalo Museum, including the Bison Video. The preserved White Cloud, is on display, in the large room. For now White Cloud is in an area that is roped off, and she asks visitors not to touch. She added that later, White Cloud will be in a clear four sided display that will enable visitor’s to see her 360 degrees.
Also on our show Jamestown Tourism Director, Searle Swedlund said, White Cloud Days, along with the Stutsman County Fair, 4th of July Fireworks Display at the Stutsman County Fairgrounds at 10-p.m., and July 4th car racing at Jamestown Speedway, along with reunions make Jamestown a large tourist destination.
