Update…

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a fatal collision between a tanker truck and a van carrying 10 people happened when the van attempted to turn around on the highway.

Three passengers in the van were killed in the crash early Tuesday evening east of Grand Forks. The patrol identified the victims as 39-year-old Jason Boppre, 66-year-old William Joyner and 41-year-old Gary Voeller, all of Grand Forks. The patrol says the van was carrying people to work, but was not specific.

Both vehicles were heading west on the four-lane road. The van was in the right-hand lane and the semi was passing in the left-lane lane when the van turned into the semi.

The patrol says the other seven people in van were injured. The semi driver was not hurt.
