Jamestown (CSi) A volunteer with the Salvation Army and Community Action says the organizations are running low on all types of supplies.
Deb Carlascio says individuals and families are still migrating north due to being displaced by Hurricanes Irma and Harvey in the United States.
She points out that personal care items, and items for babies are needed, along with over the counter medications.
She adds that a number of those individuals are still having monetary needs for motel rooms and rental dollars, in addition to gas cards for travel, through the Salvation Army.
She says the Coats for Kids program is not only for young people but also for adults in need of warm winter clothing.
The Jamestown Salvation Army announces that the Coats for Kids distribution will start on Monday October 9, 2017.
The hours through October 9th, are 9-a.m., to noon and 2-p.m., to 4-p.m.
The Jamestown Salvation Army headquarters is at 320 1st Avenue, North.
No pre-registration is required.
Also the end of November the Jamestown Salvation Army will being accepting sign ups for the Red Kettle Bell ringers.
The Red Cross Chapter in Jamestown is accepting monetary donations for hurricane refugees, or any other purpose an individual desires.
She points out that college students, schools, churches and other organizations are welcome to collect items, or volunteer in anyway they can as well.
