Robert Weber, age 84, funeral services will be Thur, Nov. 2, 2017, at 10 am, at St. James Basilica, 1307 6th Ave SE, Jamestown. A prayer service is Wed, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1307 6th Ave. SE, Jamestown.
Bob passed away Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, in his home.
Bob, son of Ryan and Dorothy (McGrath) Weber, was born March 23, 1933, in Marion. He attended school in Saratoga Township until the 8th grade, when he transferred to Marion, graduating in 1951. After graduation, he farmed with his father and worked briefly at J.C. Miller elevator.
Bob and Carol (Stoehr) were married Sept. 5, 1955 in Jamestown. Bob worked for a short time at the Coca-Cola plant there. They then moved to the family farm in Marion. Bob drove school bus for five years during the 1960s. They continued to farm with Bob’s parents until their retirement in 1973. Bob and Carol bought the farm and continued to live there until moving to Jamestown in 2007.
Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol, Jamestown; their 6 children and families – Randy & Kristen Weber, Wheatland; Lori & Al Vesel, Jamestown; Larry & Kristi Weber, Jamestown; Keri & Rick Sailer, LaMoure; Bobbi Rode & Charlie Davis, Ypsilanti; Billi & Mike Zupan, Jamestown; 12 grandkids and 7 great-grandkids. He is also survived by a sister, Elaine Hoekstra, Barnesville, MN; a sister-in-law, Donna Tompkins, Jamestown; furry friend, Oscar, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; great grandson, Joshua Sailer; brothers-in-law – Gil Tompkins, Roy Hoekstra and Larry Stoehr; and a sister and brother-in-law, Betty & Martin Drost.
