Jamestown (CSi)  On Monday May 27, 2019 Jamestown residents are invited to a program at the Knights of Columbus Hall, in Jamestown, starting at 9-a.m.   Presentation of the colors by the honor guard.

More Story:  Master of ceremonies, Stutsman County veterans service officer, David Bratton.   The keynote address will by Roger Parsons.   Honored will be  Gold Star families, the families of any veteran killed in service to America.

After, Naval ceremonies will be at the footbridge bridge into Nickeus Park, then, a salute and placement of a wreath at all Jamestown cemeteries.

At 11 a.m. a ceremony at the Veteran’s Memorial Wall at Fort Seward followed by a light lunch at the All Vets Club, with a free will offering will be received, with the proceeds going to the Jamestown Drum and Bugle Corps.

In the United States, Memorial Day is observed in honor of soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country; who died on the battlefield or as a result of injuries sustained during battle. . .

. . . while Veterans Day is observed November 11 in honor of all the soldiers who have served or are currently serving in the United States armed forces. It is to acknowledge their contribution to our security.
