BISMARCK, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Apr 29, 2013)   – Gov. Jack Dalrymple has directed all state government agencies and encouraged all North Dakotans to fly the U.S. and North Dakota flags at half-staff to honor the life and legacy of former Gov. William Guy, who passed away last week at the age of 93. The Governor’s directive begins at sunrise on Tuesday, April 30, and ends at sunset on Thursday, May 2.

Memorial services for Guy will be held Tuesday in Fargo and Thursday in Bismarck, with a private burial planned for Thursday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.

“Bill was a remarkable public servant who dedicated his life to modernizing North Dakota and to laying the groundwork for future growth and opportunity,” Dalrymple said. “We lower the flags this week as a mark of respect for his vision and leadership, and for the indelible legacy he has left behind for our citizens and our state.”
