SpecialOlympicsNDFargo hosts the 2013 Summer Special Olympics Games of North Dakota

What:    For the 16th consecutive year, the city of Fargo will serve as host of the Special Olympics North Dakota (SOND) State Summer Games. More than 500 Special Olympics participants from communities across North Dakota will compete in the two-day event. Watch and support Special Olympics athletes from across North Dakota as they participate in bocce ball, volleyball, track and field, powerlifting and swimming over the two days of competition.

At the Summer Games, all athletes will be competing to qualify for the chance to join Team North Dakota for the 2014 Special Olympics National Games held in New Jersey.  

On Friday, fans can enjoy a fireworks display with the athletes. Saturday’s opening ceremony includes the Parade of Athletes and the North Dakota Law Enforcement Torch Run.

 

All of the events during the two days of the games are free and open to the public.

Saturday, June 1 will include an opening games ceremony. At 9:30 AM, fans can join the athletes in celebration in the grandstands at Davies Football Field.
