North Dakota health officials say another person has died of complications related to the coronavirus and 107 additional people have tested positive. The state Department of Health said Monday a woman in her 70s from Williams County with underlying health conditions died from COVID-19. That raises North Dakota’s death toll to 93 since the pandemic began. The Bismarck Tribune reports it’s the first pandemic-related death in Williams County, where cases have doubled in the past week. State officials report the number of people testing positive statewide has risen to 5,126. Cass and Grand Forks counties each reported 24 new cases while Williams County had 22 new cases and Burleigh County 17.

ND health officials are reporting two new COVID-19 deaths, raising the state’s death toll from the coronavirus to 92. The latest confirmed deaths are a man in his 30s from Benson County and a man in his 80s from Burleigh County. According to the North Dakota Department of Health, both men had underlying health conditions.
Health officials on Sunday also reported 113 new coronavirus infections. That raises the statewide total since the pandemic reached North Dakota in mid-March to 5,019. Of the new cases, Cass County reported 26, Grand Forks County reported 25 and Burleigh County 16.
The NDDoH & private labs report 5,533 completed tests Sunday for COVID-19.   State & private labs have reported 257,223 total completed tests. 4,131 ND patients are recovered.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota health officials say a Stutsman County man in his 60s with underlying health conditions has died with COVID-19, increasing the state’s death toll from the coronavirus to 77. The update showed 37 new cases of the virus, 20 of those in the state’s most populous county. Cass County, which includes Fargo, has now seen a total of 2,138 positive tests. Burleigh County confirmed six new cases, for a total of 198. The number of hospitalizations rose by three in the last day, to 31. The report said 2,910 people have recovered, including 28 in the last day.

The NDDoH & private labs report 2,321 completed tests today for COVID-19 with 45 new positive cases, bringing the statewide total to 2,861. State & private labs have reported 113,847 total completed tests. 2,307 ND patients are recovered.
Thirty-one of the positive cases reported Sunday were in Cass County, which has been the epicenter of the state’s coronavirus outbreak. The county that contains Fargo now has more than 1,900 confirmed cases. Twenty-eight people were hospitalized Sunday, down one from the day before.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) —On Saturday, the North Dakota health officials reported six new deaths due to the coronavirus, including five people in Cass County with underlying health conditions.

The other person who died was a man in his 60s from Grand Forks County, he had no previous health issues listed. The Cass County victims included a woman in her 70s, a woman in her 80s, a man in his 80s and two men in their 90s.

The state has now recorded 72 deaths of people with COVID-19.

The number of people hospitalized dropped by two to a total of 30, which health experts consider an important factor in managing the virus.

LAB EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION

The lab experienced a recent malfunction on two pieces of lab equipment. Out of an abundance of caution, 82 positive results will be considered inconclusive and the individuals have been asked to retest. All the facilities involved have been notified. The issue was caught quickly and early; the malfunction has been corrected and has not impacted lab processing.

 

The retests will run over the next couple of days – an update will be provided in future news releases and more information will be provided at the news conference on Tuesday.
