Darlene “Dar” Francis Rezmer, 77, went to her eternal home on November 1, 2020 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.
Dar was born on December 25, 1942 to Ed and Leontina Bender in Underwood, North Dakota. She worked for the United States Government Social Security Office as a customer service representative and retired in 2006 after 31 years of faithful service. As a young person Dar loved to bowl, golf, and fish. In her later years her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to the two grandchildren she adored, Dakota and Dustin.
Dar is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Leontina Bender, two brothers, Bob Bender and David Bender; and her husband of 21 years, Jim Rezmer.
She leaves behind two brothers, Rodney (Diane) Bender, Bismarck; and Jack Bender, Arizona, and a sister, Beverly Anderson, Bismarck, and a sister-in-law, Kitty Bender, Jamestown. Also left behind are her two children, Kelly (Leslie) Wagner, Colorado, and Kevin (Lisa) Wagner, Jamestown, and her two beloved grandchildren, Dakota and Dustin (Carrie) Wagner, Bismarck.
The family would like to thank the Ave Maria staff for becoming Dar’s second family. A very special thank-you to Connie, Dar’s CNA, for loving and caring for her with the utmost care and dignity. Your kindness will never be forgotten. The family would also like to thank JRMC Hospice for their love and compassion during Dar’s final days.
Dar’s desire was to be cremated, and a memorial service will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dar’s name to the Ave Maria Village Private Room Campaign or to JRMC.
