Jamestown  (CSi) In Special Session,  the Jamestown Public School Board Monday evening approved Superintendent Robert Lech’s plan to increase the number of days for middle school and high school students attending class , beginning November 16.

Middle school and high school students attend classes four-days a week, with Friday distance learning and at that time sanitizing of classrooms takes place while at the same time, teachers are able to help students, with classroom instruction.

The new plan  is not affecting elementary school students. who have been attending school five days per week this school year, while students at the middle school and high school attend classroom instruction two days a week in alternating groups to promote physical distancing.
Lech’s report showed that  as of Monday, 26 students were absent with COVID-19 with another 126 students in quarantine due to close contact, whicj is about seven percent of the 2,104 students enrolled at Jamestown Public Schools.

Another   10-15 percent are not in school,  at home, not being symptomatic but  for  extra caution, reasons stemming from  due to illness in the home.”

Five  teachers are considered active for COVID-19 with 14  more in quarantine for close contact.
