Lawrence R. Dockter, 93, Jamestown, ND passed away Monday morning November 9, 2020 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center in Jamestown, ND.
Lawrence Dockter was born August 14, 1927 at Streeter, ND the son of August F. Dockter and Pauline (Muller) Dockter. He received his elementary education in the local school and grew to manhood in the vicinity where he helped on the family farm 4 miles south of Streeter.
He and Erma Schauer were married June 3, 1956 at Streeter, ND. They made their home in Stockton, CA for a short time before returning to Streeter and moved onto the farm where Lawrence was born and raised. They farmed and raised their family on the farm. In 1999 they moved to Fargo, ND. They both enjoyed traveling and visited areas which included California, Arizona and Alaska. Following the death of Erma in 2004 he has continued to reside in Fargo.
He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, ND.
Surviving are three daughters; Linda (Todd Fry) Cose, Kindred, ND; Ronda (Tim) Erbele, Streeter, ND; Sandy (James) Bordeaux, Raleigh, NC; 4 grandchildren; Emily (Khayvon Hawkins) Cose, Miranda (Andy Hagen) Erbele, Rachael (Luke) Gietzen; Addyson Erbele; 2 great grandsons, Kai and Hendrix Hawkins; sister Alice Voegele, Bismarck, ND and special friend, Mardelle Caufield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Pamela and grandson Cassidy Erbele and brother-in-law, Dan Voegele.
A private Family funeral will be held in the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown.
Interment will follow at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery at Streeter, ND.
Visitation 1-5 Thursday November 12, 2020 at the Funeral Home.
Arrangements are by the Haut Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Jamestown, ND.
