Mae and Lou like to fish, making trips to Jan Lake in Canada in mid-June for 18 years. Among her many hobbies was ceramics. She even had her own kiln.
Mae was most comfortable in the kitchen. Carmel rolls were Louis’ favorite, always needing a second one. She was a traditional housekeeper, cleaning every week whether it needed it or not and ironing kitchen towels and pillow cases. Sunday dinners were so special to Mae. Guests would enjoy her meals and play cards after she cleared the table. Most would leave with a “care package.”
Mae and Lou spent 30 winters in Arizona enjoying the company of friends from all over the country. When Lou passed away in 2010, she moved to an assisted living apartment in Fargo, close to her daughter, Billiette. Dementia gradually took over her life and was blessed with a family of caregivers in her final years. Her timid demeanor and quick humor will be surly missed. “Love You to the Moon!”
Mae is survived by daughter, Shirley Pearson; daughter, Billiette Lund; son, Larry Ross; and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lou Bower; son, Donald Ross; grandson, Kevin Lund; great-granddaughter, Amanda Egger; and several brothers and sisters.
