Dylan Alex Warkenthien, 36, died in his home in Jamestown, ND January 15, 2021. He was born December 16, 1984. Dylan left behind a loving and supportive family. He will be remembered for his kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, sharp wit, and his willingness to help others.
Dylan graduated from Valdez High School, Valdez, AK in 2003. He was an avid athlete, involved in cross country, baseball, and basketball throughout his life.
Dylan graduated from the University of Alaska, Anchorage in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education, Health and Business Leadership.
Dylan was employed at James River Correctional Center for 10 years, several of those years employed as a Lieutenant Correctional Officer. His most recent employment was with Alpha Opportunities, Inc.
Dylan was a loving father of two sons. Brady Warkenthien 8, and Garrison Warkenthien 7. He loved sharing his knowledge and passion for sports and education with his boys.
Dylan is survived by his children, his mother, Mona Tottingham (Jamestown); brother, Derek Warkenthien and niece, Aubriana Warkenthien (Fargo); Grandparents, Rex and Patricia Tottingham (Jamestown); Dara Warkenthien, mother of his children (Jamestown); and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Dylan is preceded in death by his father, Terry Warkenthien and his grandparents, Allen and Kay Warkenthien.
Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM. A live stream will be available through www.trinityjamestown.com. Funeral arrangements are through Eddy Funeral Home.
