Evangeline Mittleider (Vangie or as she liked to be called Angie) passed away Thursday, January 14th, 2021 in Mesa AZ at Banner Heart Hospital.
Vangie was born in the city of Blueball in Logan County February 13, 1940 to Edwin & Lydia (Ruff) Enzminger. She attended a one room school house from 1st to 6th grade south of Medina. 7th – 12th she attended school in Tappen ND.
Vangie married the love of her life Clarence Mittleider on March 28th, 1958 in Tappen ND. They had 5 children, Clarence (Cindy) Mittleider Jr. Fargo ND, Brenda (Jon) Elwonger Vancouver WA, Greg (Julie) Mittleider Gackle ND, Melody Mittleider & Lori (David) Zimney Jamestown ND.
Vangie worked at Topps Cafe in Sterling ND, she did lots of babysitting, Kruger’s Grocery Store, RoughRider Cafe in Steele, in 1977 the family moved to Jamestown ND, there she worked at High Acres Manor & later at the Anne Carlsen School as the head of the Laundry Department when her career ended in 1993 due to health reasons. In 1995 they began traveling, going to Oregon, Texas, and finally ended up in Mesa AZ in 1997 where they still lived upon her death.
Vangie was a very faithful woman and believed deeply in her Lord Jesus. She was a member of the United Methodist Women for 59 years and taught Sunday school. Vangie and Clarence were also youth leaders in the church and was a 4-H leader while her children were young. She loved to embroider, play pinochle, the card games golf and hand & foot, baking, canning, and teaching her girls and grandchildren how to make kuchen and chicken & dumplings.
Vangie is survived by her husband; children; and siblings Ramona (Gene) Mayer, Verna (Ervin) Pfaff, Larry (Marlys) Enzminger, Marlys (Billie) Schmidt, Donald (Marie) Enzminger & Donna (Terry) Hilmoe.
Vangie was preceded in death by her Parents, In-laws Fred & Bertha Mittleider, 2 infant Great Grandsons; her Brother Melvin, In laws Ed Simonsin, Delilah Roesler, Herb Roesler, Melvin Mittleider, Elton Mittleider, Loretta Mittleider, Edwin Zimmerman.
Vangie had 22 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren. She loved every one of them and was so proud of all of them. When any of the Grandchildren of any level did something, she let everyone know. She loved to see all their accomplishments through Facebook and loved when anyone of the children or grandchildren visited with her on the computer it was the highlight of her day.
The family will have a celebration of life in the spring in Jamestown ND.
