Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) – Due to recent rains, Interstate Engineering reports that the start of construction for the Jamestown sanitary sewer project has been delayed.
Construction, which was originally scheduled to start at the beginning of July, will now begin on July 22, 2013.
The start change location is also because different crews will be available at the new start date.
Another change is that construction will then take place on the 600 to 900 blocks of 4th Ave NW. Work is expected to last about one week.
The underground work, should still be done around November.
The route of the sewer project will stay the same, and is expected to still finish in February the original start date.
Lift station construction is expected to start August 1, 2013.

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Jun 28. 2013) — Authorities remind Jamestown residents of rules for lighting fireworks off in the city.
Fireworks may only be detonated in Jamestown city limits from 9 a.m. to midnight June 27 through July 3 and on July 4 fireworks may be shot off from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. on July 5.
Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger says anyone shooting fireworks off after the designated hours could be ticketed for violating the city ordinance, which is a Class B misdemeanor, and carries a maximum penalty of 30 days in jail and $1,000 fine.
City Fire Chief Jim Reuther adds, safety should be the top priority while handling and shooting fireworks, noting that grass will still burn when it’s green, and suggests having a fire extinguisher nearby when using fireworks.

more that 50 vendors will participate in Junkin” CuZins Junkyard Expo and Flea Market.
The event takes place from 9-a.m., to 2-p.m., at the Stutsman County Fairgrounds.
Items for sale will include such items as jewelry, crafts, light fixtures, furniture, knitted items and more, that have been re-purposed and up-cycled from junk.
Vendors will also be selling raw materials, to be used in re-purposing projects.
There will also be baked goods and fair food for sale.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Bismarck police say they have arrested a second suspect in the apparent slaying of a man who had recently moved to the city from Sioux Falls, S.D.
The 20-year-old Stanley man was arrested Thursday on a murder charge. Formal charges were pending on Friday.
Authorities already have charged 25-year-old Theo Crowe with murder in the apparent death of 18-year-old John Swain, who was last seen in mid-May.
Authorities say a body was found Wednesday at a home in Poplar, Mont., owned by Crowe’s grandmother. An autopsy is being conducted to determine whether it is Swain.
Crowe does not yet have a listed attorney.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A Fargo man accused of locking two men in his apartment and attacking them with a sword and a table leg has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder.
23-year-old Damon White Bird also has pleaded not guilty to felony felonious restraint and aggravated assault charges, as well as a misdemeanor count of tampering with physical evidence.
Authorities say one victim in the alleged attack in April suffered a skull fracture and internal bleeding. The other suffered puncture wounds to various parts of his body.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – An Indiana prison inmate accused of mailing a threatening letter to a dead federal judge in North Dakota has pleaded not guilty in federal court.
Authorities say Michael Howard Hunter sent a letter postmarked Dec. 12, 2012, addressed to Judge Rodney Webb in Fargo. Webb died in August 2009.
The letter from Hunter allegedly contained threats to Webb and three federal prosecutors.
Hunter has an extensive criminal history that includes bank robberies in Indiana and Washington State. He’s currently behind bars at the New Castle Correctional Facility in New Castle, Ind.
Hunter pleaded not guilty to a charge of mailing threatening communications.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – Officials in Fargo say a fire truck was heavily damaged after it collided with a car driving without its lights on.
Assistant Fire Chief Steve Balstadsays the pumper truck was heading west on Main Avenue at a normal speed about 3 a.m. when it collided with a northbound car.
Balstad says the driver of the car and two firefighters were taken to the hospital. The firefighters were treated and released.
Fargo Police Lt. Joel Vettel says the 28-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Police believe the man was involved in an earlier incident in which a car failed to stop when an officer tried to pull it over. They say the car took off without its lights on.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – Trial is underway in Grand Forks for three men accused of breaking into a couple’s home, demanding drugs and money and stealing various items including jewelry and prescription medicine.
Twenty-nine-year-old Allen Ratliff, his 28-year-old brother Nathan, and 25-year-old Cody Boulduc are accused of beating homeowner Sherman Jones in April 2012. They are charged with burglary, assault, robbery, theft and felonious restraint.
Jones testified Wednesday that three men kicked in the door of his home, clubbed him and duct-taped his hands behind his back. He said he needed surgery after the beating and remains on painkillers.
Defense attorneys during their cross-examination of Jones focused on his inability to identify his attackers.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The interim chancellor of the North Dakota University System says the 45,000 emails reportedly deleted from the email account of North Dakota State University President Dean Bresciani (bruh-SHAW’-nee) are not gone for good.
Larry Skogen says officials know where the emails are and are still trying to determine if they were ever deleted.
The emails are the subject of a state investigation into whether NDSU violated open records laws by deleting emails from Bresciani’s inbox that might have been subject to a legislative public records request.
NDSU says it fully complies with open records requests.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – The U.S. Agriculture Department says preliminary spring wheat prices in North Dakota are down 17 cents from May.
The North Dakota office of the National Agriculture Statistics Service says the price in June was $7.55 a bushel. Durum wheat, at $7.95 a bushel, decreased 15 cents from May, and winter wheat, at $6.95 a bushel, decreased 30 cents over the month.
The preliminary all sunflower price, at $23.40 per hundredweight, is down 50 cents from the previous month.
The Ag Department says soybeans, at $14.10 per bushel, increased 10 cents from May.
Corn increased 11 cents from the previous month to $6.50 per bushel.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota’s Game and Fish Department is closing two wildlife management areas in the oil patch to night uses other than fishing and hunting.
The restrictions at the Trenton and the Lewis and Clark management areas apply from one hour after sunset to one hour before sunrise.
Game and Fish Enforcement Chief Robert Timian says the management areas in McKenzie and Williams counties are meant to be used for outdoor recreation associated with fishing, hunting and trapping. But he says in the past few years other undesirable nighttime activities such as illegal drug use have increased.
People who violate the new restriction face a fine. The amount hasn’t been determined yet but Timian says it could be as much as $250.
Overnight camping already is prohibited in the management areas.

NEW YORK (AP) – The Cleveland Cavaliers surprised the Barclays Center crowd by picking UNLV forward Anthony Bennett No. 1, and not one of the available 7-footers. The Brooklyn Nets will acquire Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett from the Boston Celtics. The trade can’t be completed until July 10, after next season’s salary cap is set, so pieces were still being discussed as the NBA draft ended.
Alex Len went to Phoenix at No. 5.
Nerlins Noel fell to No. 6, where the New Orleans Pelicans took him and, then dealt his rights to the Philadelphia 76ers for a package headlined by All-Star guard Jrue Holiday.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Michigan point guard Trey Burke was selected at No. 9 overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in last night’s NBA draft. The Wolves traded Burke to Utah for the 14th and 21st selections. The Jazz drafted UCLA’s Shabazz Muhammad at No. 14 and Louisville center Gorgui Dieng at No. 21.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – The Minnesota Timberwolves selected Colorado’s Andre Roberson with the 26th overall pick for the Golden State Warriors, who then traded him to Oklahoma City. The Warriors traded Roberson to the Thunder for a package including the 29th overall pick. The Timberwolves also got a future second-round pick in the deal.
HERNANDEZ-NFL…
NEW YORK (AP) – The NFL is telling its teams that any contract with Aaron Hernandez before charges against him are resolved won’t be approved without a hearing by commissioner Roger Goodell.
The league says the hearing would be to decide if the former New England Patriots tight end should be suspended or face other action before a resolution of the charges is reached.
Hernandez was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder and weapons counts in the shooting death of a friend, Odin Lloyd. Hernandez was cut by the Patriots after the arrest and before his court appearance and is being held without bail.
WIMBLEDON-DAY 4…
LONDON (AP) – Wild-card entry Alison Riske of the U.S. reached the third round at a Grand Slam tournament for the first time, beating 44th-ranked Urszula Radwanska of Poland 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 at Wimbledon on Friday.
The match was postponed Thursday by rain.
The 126th-ranked Riske, who turns 23 Wednesday, was 0-5 at major tournaments until advancing at the All England Club when her first-round opponent retired in the third set.
On Friday, Riske broke in the final game, converting her third match point when Radwanska put a backhand into the net.
Riske won the point on 33 of 48 trips to the net, accumulating a 43-16 edge in winners.
Riske will play Saturday against four-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist Kaia Kanepi, who eliminated No. 7 Angelique Kerber 3-6, 7-6 (6), 6-3.
LONDON (AP) – Serena Williams has advanced to the third round at Wimbledon with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Caroline Garcia. Williams will now face Japanese veteran Kimiko Date (kih-MEE’-koh DAH’-tay)-Krumm, who at 42 became the oldest woman to reach the third round at Wimbledon in the Open era.
Men’s No. 1 Novak Djokovic (NOH’-vak JOH’-kuh-vich) was also a Day 4 winner as he got rid of Bobby Reynolds of the U.S. in straight sets, 7-6, 6-3, 6-1. The departure of Reynolds means there are no American men left in the tournament. This is the worst showing for U.S. men at Wimbledon in 101 years.
PGA-AT&T NATIONAL…
BETHESDA, Md. (AP) – Roberto Castro ran off three straight birdies late in his round for a 5-under 66, giving him the first round lead at the AT&T National at Congressional Country Club. Billy Horschel, who tied for fourth in the real U.S. Open two weeks ago at Merion, is tied with Bud Cauley and Canadian Graham DeLaet (deh-LEHT’) for second after they shot 3-under 68s.
Two of the top names in golf are not taking part in this weekend’s AT&T National in suburban Washington, D.C. Recently crowned US Open champ Justin Rose pulled out because of fatigue while tournament host Tiger Woods is nursing a sore elbow.

LONDON (AP) – Helping couples avoid passing on genetic diseases to their children could usher in a new and controversial technique in Britain. For a woman with faulty mitochondria, scientists take only the healthy genetic material from her egg or embryo, transfer that into a donor egg or embryo that still has its healthy mitochondria but has had the rest of its key DNA removed. The fertilized embryo is then transferred into the womb of the mother. Opponents say it’s unethical and there are alternatives.
