Florence Janz, 104, passed away March 8, 2021 in La Mesa, California. She was born to Gilbert and Mary Miner of Ypsilanti, North Dakota. Florence married Willie Janz in 1936. Shortly thereafter, they bought a farm in Ypsilanti, North Dakota, where they lived until 1970. They then moved to California to be with their children and grandchildren. In California, Florence continued to work as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician until her retirement in 1982.
She is survived by her two daughters, Arliss Mathern of San Diego, California, and Vivian Lorigan of Santee, California, 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Janz; daughter Sylvia Smith; her sisters, Ida Walters, Eldina Youle, Bertha Miner, and her brother Ernest Miner.
She’ll be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Jamestown, North Dakota.
