Leroy Adam Mastel, 68 of Jamestown, North Dakota passed away peacefully on March 27, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Edgeley, North Dakota on June 28, 1952 to Leopold and Christine Mastel. He graduated in 1971 from Aberdeen Central. In 1971 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was called to serve in the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Donna Wiedmeier on July 1, 1972 in Warner, SD. His military career brought the family to ND, where they called home. In 1978 he started working at Western Gear (Collins Aerospace) where he retired in July 2017.
Leroy had many passions in life; wood working, hunting, tractors, being a jokester and spending quality time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling with Donna to see the grandchildren and spoiling his monkey dog – Ryder.
Leroy is survived by his wife Donna; children Michael Mastel, Forman, ND; Stacie Mastel, Jamestown ND; (children, Ethan, Ericka, Marc and great granddaughter Elizabeth); Janet Geigle-Hickok, New Richmond, WI (husband Jason, children Addison, Carter, Karah, Ryker); his dog Ryder, siblings, Gene & Karen Mastel, Don Mastel, Marv & Cindy Mastel, Marcie & Jason Davis and Ken Mastel.
Leroy is preceded in death by his father Leopold Mastel, mother Christine Mastel, son-n-law Darwin Geigle, grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 31, 2021 from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND followed by a prayer service at 7:00 pm. A Funeral service will be held on Thursday April 1, 2021 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Rev. Kristina Weber officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND.
