Robert Leo Walsh, 90, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Wednesday morning, May 5, 2021 at his home.
Robert was born October 28, 1930, in Jamestown, the son of Leon Eugene and Dorothy (Baker) Walsh. After receiving his education in Jamestown, he entered the US Army during the Korean Conflict. During his service Bob obtained the rank of 2nd Lt and completed the infantry operations, intelligence and reconnaissance program at Ft Benning, GA. He was honorably discharged on April 19, 1956 at Camp Rucker.
Bob was a career mason. He installed the buffalo mural at City Hall and if there is a brick building in Jamestown chances are he and his son, Matt had a hand in it. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, which he instilled the love for in his kids and grandkids. His family meant the world to him. He married Vivian Eaton on August 29, 1983. Bob was a member of the American Legion and Knights of Columbus.
Bob is survived by son, Mike (Delaine) Walsh and their children, Katie (Josh) Kelm and great grandchildren Fynneghan & Gwenyvieve, Daniel (Whitney) Walsh and great granddaughter Eliana; son, Matt (Vicki) Walsh and their daughters, Whitney Walsh and Kaitlin Walsh; daughter, Maureen Wegenke and her children, Nick Wegenke, Justin (Alison) Wegenke and great grandchildren, Will and Wren; Warren Wegenke, Jessica (Bo) Kyaw; and brother, Charles Walsh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Viv; and sister, Mary Ann.
Funeral Service: 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown with military honors following the funeral.
