Major Fire Tues afternoon at Fargo strip mall

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Fire has caused extensive damage at a strip mall in Fargo. Authorities say the three-alarm fire broke out in Bodyworks Physical Therapy Tuesday afternoon and spread to Gigi’s Playhouse which serves individuals with Down syndrome. Fire officials say a firewall between Gigi’s and another business slowed the fire from spreading further. Damage beyond the firewall was limited to a mechanical room. Authorities say the blaze burned through the roof at the two businesses and caused heavy water damage elsewhere. Crews from West Fargo and Moorhead, Minnesota were also called to the fire. One firefighter suffered a minor injury, but no civilians were hurt.

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – The Fargo Fire Department  Tuesday was  on scene of a building on fire in south Fargo.

The call came in around 1:20 p.m. to 3242 20th Street South, which is a strip mall with several businesses. The fire is believed to have started in the attic of one of the businesses.

On Tuesday afternoon thick, black smoke billowing from the building. By 1:50 p.m., fire crews on scene reported the roof starting to collapse.

Tuesday afternoon, Fargo residents were asked use caution if  near the 2000 block of 32nd Avenue South in Fargo as crews continued to put out this active fire.
