Roger H. Walters, age 74, of Jamestown, ND went home to his Lord Friday, May 21, 2021 at his home, after a long courageous battle of COPD.
Roger was born March 6, 1947 in Jamestown, ND to Harold and Ruby (Burleson) Walters. Roger had five siblings; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Roger graduated from Auto Body School in Bismarck, ND. He spent the majority of his life pursuing his passion and love for auto body. He was employed for several years at Jamestown Body Shop. In 1986, he took a leap of faith and opened his own body shop, WALTERS AUTO BODY. He continued to run his business successfully and truly enjoyed restoring vehicles until his retirement in 2018. Roger was a true artist in his profession.
On July 23, 1966, he married his high school sweetheart, Jacqulyn Mayer. The had 2 daughters; Dawn and Tammie. In their younger years, Roger and Jackie enjoyed camping, boating and fishing. They also spent many years on the greens of Hillcrest Golf Course together with their friends. They enjoyed time spent with their children and grandchildren as well. As years passed and life slowed down, they found pleasure in the little things; faithfully watching UND Hockey, Happy Hour with his buddies in his shop, small campfires on the patio, ordering in Chinese food or watching a good John Wayne movie together. Roger was a true and loyal friend to many. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbors.
Roger is survived by his wife, Jackie, Jamestown, ND, his daughters, Dawn (Jeff) Ebel, Bismarck, ND, Tammie (Tony) Walth, Bismarck, ND, four grandchildren, Jordan Ebel, Bismarck, ND, Aliah Walth, Bismarck, ND, Noah Walth, Bismarck, ND, Jonah Walth, Bismarck, ND, a brother, Eugene Walters Bismarck, ND, many nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Scott Scholz, Jamestown, ND.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Dorscher, Harold Walters, his siblings, Jeanette Knobel, Carol Mayer, Eldon Walters and DiIone Tahran.
A celebration of life service will be at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Eddy Funeral Home with Chaplain Kathleen Heller officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
