Elmer Klose, 88, Jamestown, ND, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021 at his home, Eventide Assisted Living Center, Jamestown.
Elmer was born on the family farm in Homer Township to Ursula “Gladys” Walters and Francis Klose. He received his education in Jamestown and graduated in 1951. During his high school years, Elmer spent his summers helping out on the family farm. After graduation, Elmer enlisted in the Army National Guard of ND and attained the rank of corporal before being honorably discharged.
Elmer met the love of his life, ElDora Middlestead, in 1950 while working at Jamestown Hid & Fur. They married on January 10, 1951 and made their home in Jamestown where he worked various occupations, including construction, and retired in 1994 as a petroleum truck driver.
After retirement, Elmer and ElDora did a lot of traveling in their camper.
Elmer is survived by two sisters, Lorraine Zimney and Linda Ebele; brother, William Klose; four sons, Michael (Monie) Klose, Tim Klose, Wayne (Melissa) Klose, Randy Klose; and daughter, Bonnie (Ranell) Hatch; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly Wagner; grandsons, Randy Klose, Jr. and Bryan Michael Klose; and great-grandson, Gabriel Daniel Lee.
Funeral Service – 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 18, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Lucas Holsten officiating.
Visitation – 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Prayer Service – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial- Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
