Robert Duchscherer was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. On Saturday June 26, 2021 at 78 years of age, Robert went to his heavenly home.
Robert (Bob) Leo Duchscherer was born October 22, 1942 in Minot, ND to Katherine and Peter Duchscherer. He grew up and attended school in Velva. After graduation Bob attended Bismarck Business School. His first job after college was an Accountant at Coca-Cola in Jamestown. He then joined the sales team at Liechty Homes, where he worked for 32 years until he semi-retired. He then, because of his need to keep busy, and his love of being around people and helping them, began working for Northwest Mutual Insurance for several years.
Bob married the love of his life, Marilyn Sukut on June 20, 1964. They enjoyed 57 wonderful years of marriage. Together they raised three children (Tammy, Todd and Troy) with family being at the center of all they did. Bob loved to travel and took his family on many trips to see our beautiful country. Bob’s faith was very important to him. His deep and abiding faith, his strong work ethic and unfailing honesty and integrity set an example for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to live up to and strive for. He always made a special point of blessing his family every time he saw them.
He was a member of Victory Lutheran Church and served on the Board of the ND Manufactured Home Association. Bob was a true salesman at heart. He loved serving his customers and finding them the perfect place to call home for their family. He always had his customers best interest in mind. This is evident as he won many awards for customer satisfaction and sales. One award he was particularly proud of was winning the 100% Customer Satisfaction Award 8 years in a row.
Bob was a warm and gentle spirit who always had a smile and a greeting for everyone he met. Even on family vacations 3,000 miles away, he would run into someone he knew. He would also form new friendship and connections everywhere he went because of his kind heart and compassion for people. He loved rising early and spending time in the Word and praying for his children family and friends. The highlight of his summer was attending dirt track racing with his life-long sweetheart and daughter Tammy and her family to watch his son Todd and grandson Matthew race with the support of their crew chief and his son, Troy. In the fall, you could find him out hunting with his sons, his brother and his grandchildren. He was a true family man.
Bob is survived by his wife Marilyn; three children, Tammy (Allen) Falk, Todd (Renae) Duchscherer, Troy Duchscherer (Diedra Boom); grandchildren, Rob Falk, Chris (Chelci) Falk, Brittany (Erin) Schmidt, Michelle (Dylan) Carr, Marissa (Javan) Arroyo, Mariah and Matthew Duchscherer; great-grandchildren, Robert Quinton, Grace, Lydia, Jamisen, Josie, Ella, James, Jonathan, Jacqueline, Caylor, Benson and Aveah; Sister-in-Law Florence Goehner and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Peter Duchscherer, grandson Trevor Duchscherer, brother Michael Duchscherer and brother-in-law Marvin Goehner.
Prayer service will be held Wednesday June 30th at 7:00pm at Eddy Funeral Home. The Funeral service is at 11:00 am on Thursday July 1, 2021 at Victory Lutheran Church in Jamestown.
Burial will be at Highland Home Cemetery in Jamestown.
