Lillian Peckham, 99, Jamestown, ND formerly of Ypsilanti, ND passed away Friday, July 2, 2021 at her home.
Lillian G. Erickson was born November 11, 1921 on a farm in the Adrian, ND area. The 5th of nine children born to William and Oline (Olson) Erickson. The family moved to a farm near Ypsilanti, ND where she grew up and attended school in Homer Township, graduating from the 8th grade.
She married Dale Peckham on June 7, 1944 in Moorhead, MN. Lillian farmed with Dale, mowed hay and created a great life and home also helping with the barn dances at the Peckham Barn. She enjoyed baseball games, dancing, gardening, bowling, sewing & embroidering, reading and crossword puzzels. She was excellent at cooking and baking, playing cards and taking care of her family.
She was a volunteer at JRMC, served 25 years with Stutsman County Fair working in the home economics department, was on a bowling league and an avid Twins fan, member of Ypsilanti Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown.
Lillian is survived by three daughters, Charlene Messer, Barnesville, MN, Denise (Thom) Walz, Pelican Rapids, MN, Lynette (Doug) Gohner, Montpelier, ND; one son LaRell (Stacy), Ypsilanti, ND; five grandchildren Jason (Chris) Messer, Jeremy (Tara) Messer, Lacey (Logan) Urness, Will Peckham and Leah Peckham; seven great grandchildren Meghan Messer, Savannah Messer, Jensen Messer, Madison Messer, Jameson Messer, Ellis Urness and Monroe Urness; one sister Evelyn Clemens, Fargo, ND; one brother-in-law Donald Willey, Ft. Wayne, IN and many nieces and nephews and special friends/neighbors Shirley, Jim (Carolyn) and Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, parents William and Oline, one son-in-law Maynard Messer, brothers Henry, Oscar, Floyd and Carl, sisters Wilma Dally, Arline Lueck and Leone Willey.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 8 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Susan Haukaas officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
