MLB ALL STAR GAME…
NEW YORK (AP) – The American League will have home field advantage in the World Series following the AL’s 3-0 shutout that ends the National League’s three-game winning streak in the All-Star Game. In his final All-Star appearance, retiring 43-year-old New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera was named All-Star MVP after pitching a 1-2-3 eighth inning, one of 10 AL pitchers who combined on the three-hit shutout. Toronto’s Jose Bautista, Baltimore’s J.J. Hardy and Cleveland’s Jason Kipnis all drove in runs for the AL squad. Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer went 1-for-2.

Sports may be the theme, but in some ways “Crowd Goes Wild” won’t feel much different from Philbin’s old morning talk shows.
He’ll open up each edition of the Monday-through-Friday program with a commentary, and then later interview a guest — who could be an athlete or an actor.
There will be debates on the hot sports topic of the moment, but Davies vows the conversations will be more nuanced than one person arguing the pro and another the con of the issue.
