Myron “Butch” Charles Mosolf, 71, of Jamestown, peacefully passed away at his home on August 27, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Butch was born on May 27, 1950 to Walter Mosolf and Doris (Orville) Stenson in Cando, ND and was raised in Rocklake, ND.
Butch graduated from Rocklake High School in 1968. After graduation he worked in the trucking industry for over 40 years. He worked many years for Mayer Truck Line and also had his own trucking business Wheatland Dray for 20 years. Butch was passionate about driving truck and loved being able to travel and see all parts of the United States. In 2017, Butch was awarded the 5 million miles Safe Driving Award from the American Trucking Association.
In 1977, Butch married Laurel Anderson and started a family with her two children Wendy and Michelle. Butch and Laurie went on to have three children together, Brock, Brook and Amanda.
In 2020, after over 40 years on the road, Butch had to put the truck in park and hang up his keys and retire from the trucking business.
Butch is preceded in death by his father Walter Mosolf, his mother Doris Stenson, step father Orville Stenson, his sister Debra Stenson, step sister Leona Kennedy, three grandchildren Grace, Hope and Chance Lund and a son-in-law Royal Harrington.
Butch is survived by his wife of 44 years Laurie; children Wendy (Chris) Schmid, Carrington, ND, Michelle (Daron) Lund, Jamestown, ND, Brock (Nicole) Mosolf, Jamestown, ND, Brook (Tyler) Beckley, Carrington, ND and Amanda (Randall) Zink, Carrington, ND; 13 grandchildren Ashly, Molly, Courtney (Chris), Gavin, Kolten, Elizabeth, Kyle, Bryan, Layne, Kaitlyn, McCoy, Mya, Maverick, McKade and 1 great granddaughter Rylan.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Eddy Funeral Home. A memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 2 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Rev. Kristina Weber officiating. Interment will be in Highland Home Cemetery.
