Robert “Bob” Phillip Widmer, 92, of Jamestown, North Dakota died on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Rock of Ages in Jamestown.
Bob was born on February 23, 1929 in Medina, ND to Daniel and Alvina (Mayer) Widmer. He went to IOSCU township school up to eighth grade. Bob grew up on the family farm 11 miles North of Medina, with his sister, Luella Schumaker. He worked for different farms and worked as a handyman and construction worker. Bob met Anna Schumacher and as teenagers, they got married on November 23, 1954 and had seven children together. They were divorced in 1974. Bob then married Eileen Kurtz on September 16, 1985 and got divorced, but remained companions.
Bob has lived in different towns, but always remained around Jamestown. He enjoyed being around his family, loved going fishing with his sons, and raising rabbits, goats, sheep, llamas, and being on the farms.
Robert is survived by his children; Pat Albrecht, Jamestown, Daniel Widmer, Jamestown, Jerry (Becky) Widmer, Jamestown, Bruce (Cindy) Widmer, Jamestown, Kenneth (Brenda) Widmer, Jamestown, Kevin (Barb) Widmer, Jamestown, Tammy (Alan) Heger, Lisbon, ND, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Alvina Widmer, and sister, Luella Schumaker.
Memorial Service: 10:00 AM, Monday, September 20, 2021 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with Pastor Jennifer McDonald officiating.
Burial: Spiritwood Cemetery, Spiritwood, North Dakota.
Arrangements are in the care of Eddy Funeral Home.
