Patricia Jean Barnick, 88, of Nortonville, ND, passed away Monday evening, September 13, 2021 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown, surrounded by her loving family.

Patricia was born June 22, 1933, in Edgeley, ND, the daughter of Robert and Mabel (Bergman) Lamp. She attended country school and graduated from Nortonville High School. Patricia was united in marriage to Fredric Herman Barnick on December 27, 1951 in Edgeley. They made their home on the family farm north of Nortonville where they raised a family. They loved hunting, fishing and spending time with family. Fred passed away on May 18, 2013.

Patty, as she was affectionately known, was very devoted to her Catholic faith. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ for many years and was also part of the Altar Society. Patty’s family loved to play cards together, and Patty would deal in whatever possible. Smear was her game of choice, but she could play most any card game and she was the best if you played the wrong card, she let you know it! Patty’s crowning achievement was her love for and commitment to her husband, Fred. They shared a tremendous love for one another that we all aspire to. Fred and Patty set an example of a loving marriage and true partnership for their children and many others.

Patricia is survived by her children, Tom (Toni) Barnick, Jerome Barnick, Lynette (Arlie) Lind, Mary (Noel) Trusty, David (Lisa) Barnick, Margaret (Mark) Brockman, and Jay (Nancy) Barnick; daughter-in-law, Rose Barnick; 23 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Gayle) Lamp, Robert Lamp, and Allan (Sandy) Lamp; and sister, Nancy (John) Buckeye.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Fred; one son, Kevin; one daughter, LoAnne; brother, Philip James Lamp; and sister-in-law, Muriel Lamp.
