Ronald F. Kern, 74, of Wimbledon, ND, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 19, 2021 at Ave Maria, Jamestown, ND.
Ronald F. “Ron” Kern was born July 29, 1947, in Galena, Illinois to Albert F. and Marie G. (Trumm) Kern. He graduated from high school in Dubuque, Iowa and entered the United States Air Force. After serving four years, Ronald was honorably discharged and then worked as a heavy equipment operator until 1972 and then drove truck for some time. Ronald was united in marriage to Ann Albrecht on July 31, 1974 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They resided in Galena, Illinois for a year before making their home in the Courtenay/Wimbledon area. Ronald drove truck for Randt Oil, later Lee’s Oil from 2000 until recently. Ann passed away on November 25, 2019.
Ronald is survived by his sister, Norma Jean (Ray) Kirpes, Dubuque, Iowa; brother, Leo C. (Treva) Kern, Galena, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Jim (Yvonne) Szarkowski, Jamestown, ND, Diane Albrecht, Sparks, Nevada, and Mary Albrecht, Bismarck, ND; brothers-in-law, Jim Szarkowski, Jamestown, and Fred Burdt, Marietta, California; nieces, nephews, close friends and many acquaintances.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Kern; parents; one brother; two sisters; and two sisters-in-law.
Final internment will be a private family ceremony.
Arrangements are in the care of Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown.
