Chad Rusher, age 48, of Valley City, ND, died Sunday, September 26th at Mercy Hospital in Valley City. A celebration of Chad’s life will be held from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 30th at the family home 510 8th Ave SE in Valley City.
Chad Edward Rusher, the son of Edward and Phyllis (Bible) Rusher, was born March 15, 1973 in Orange County, CA. Chad and his family moved to Rio Linda, CA and it was while living there that he met his wife Michele Day. They were married in Reno, Nevada on February 9, 2002. Chad became an “Instant Dad” with the marriage as he gained an 11 year old son, Stephen Jay Pierce. On October 7, 2003 they welcomed their son, Curtis Edward Rusher, who became his Dad’s biggest fan. Michele admits to feeling like the “Odd Girl Out” as Chad and Curtis shared a very special Bond right up to his death. In 2003, the family moved to North Dakota to be closer to Michele’s family. Chad was always a hard worker and made friends very easily. His co-workers became like family to him. He held various jobs throughout his short life. Upon moving to North Dakota, he became a Process Mechanic at Drug Plastics and Glass and was employed there for 16 years. He then worked at K&S Carpet Clean up until he was forced to take leave several weeks before his untimely death. Chad was a wonderful Husband, Dad, Son-in-law, Brother and an amazing friend to many. He will be greatly missed by his family who loved him dearly. He was a kind man and enriched many lives in a short time.
Chad is survived by his wife of 20 years, Michele; two sons, Stephen Jay and Curtis; mother and father in law, Kathy and Ken Burr; a brother in law, Aaron Burr, all Valley City, ND; mother and step father, Phyllis (Dan) Holt; his father, Edward Rusher; a sister, Heather Holt; two brothers, Eric (Maria) Rusher and Jacob Holt; three step-brothers, Todd, Jason and Ryan Frost.
