Clara (McMillan) Christ, 92, of Jamestown, North Dakota passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Jamestown.
Clara was born on a farm near Wimbledon, ND. She married Edward Christ in 1950. They had three children; Edward (Kelly) Bismarck, ND, Collen Hare (Jim) Wimbledon, ND and Kevin (Renee) Bismarck ND. Clara and Edward farmed near Leal, ND until retiring in 1992. After leaving the farm they moved to Jamestown in 2003.
Clara was Secretary for the Wesley College President in Grand Forks in 1949-50. She taught primary room at Uxbridge Consolidate School in 1950-51. Clara taught piano lessons at Wimbledon and North Central Schools and Bible and Sunday School for many years. She was President of the Leal PTA, an officer of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a District Officer for the District UMW.
Music brought joy to her life. Clara was diagnosed with 3rd stage ovarian cancer in October 2007 and had quality of life until her passing.
Clara leaves behind three children, six grandchildren; Stacy Lettenmaier, Leslie (Brad) Kallenbach, Julie (Corey) Knauss, Mike (Heather) Christ, Nick (Amy) Christ and Bridget (Micah) Amos, brother Leonard (Phyliss) McMillan and sister Charlotte Henning, 15 great grandchildren, and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her parents Frank and Tilla (Michaelson) McMillan, and brothers, Howard and Russell McMillan.
Memorials are encouraged to Jamestown Regional Medical Center Hospice.
Funeral Service: 1:00 PM., Saturday, October 9, 2021 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Jamestown with Pastor Jennifer McDonald officiating.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
