Kate was born on March 29, 1936 to Arthur and Kathleen Eagleson in Medina, North Dakota. She was an only child. She moved with her parents and grew up in Montevideo, Minnesota. After High School graduation, she attended Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota. After graduating college she moved to Bismarck, North Dakota where she was employed at the North Dakota State Nurses Association. It was in Bismarck that she met and married Tom Wojcik. They got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 1958 and were married six months later on August 2, 1958. They spent 46 wonderful years together in Jamestown, North Dakota. Kate was a devoted wife and homemaker. She and Tom raised 2 children; Kathy and Louis. Kate was very proud of her 2 children, 2 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Outside of raising her children, she supported Tom in his political endeavors and his occupation with Miller Brewing Company for which she enjoyed hosting many parties at their home. They loved their annual trip to Las Vegas and attending the Democratic conventions. Her passions included volunteering for many groups, the Humane Society and the Catholic Church. She loved to sing and had always been in a choir of some kind. Her favorite artist was Elvis Presley.
Later, Tom and Kate had an Antique Shop in Jamestown and were avid antique collectors. They enjoyed traveling to Antique Shows and Flea Markets selling their wares. For many years they traveled to Arizona in the winters, as their two children and grandchildren resided in Phoenix.
After Tom’s passing, she married Al Spanjer. They enjoyed many years together, and they also traveled to Phoenix for the winter, carrying on Kate’s passion for antiquing.
Kate was a social butterfly, always having a friendly conversation with whomever she met. She was a great friend to many people over the years. Kate was deeply loved by her family and will be truly missed by so many.
