Shirley Bertsch, 82, Jamestown, ND died Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Jamestown, surrounded by her family.
Shirley Darlene Wolf was born August 16, 1939 at Kintyre, ND to Henry and Eva (Veil) Wolf. In 1941 her family moved to Robinson, ND where she received her education, graduating from Robinson High School in 1956. She attended Valley City Teachers College and taught at a country school south of Arena, ND.
She and Kenton Bertsch were married February 16, 1956 at Robinson, ND, where they made their home. They adopted a daughter, Twyla. They lived in Pettibone, Ellendale and Williston, ND before moving to Jamestown in 1996. She retired from Thrifty White Drug.
Shirley enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, playing cards, fishing, and visiting with all her wonderful friends, but most of all spending time with her family. She taught vacation bible school and was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Jamestown.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Twyla (Chad) Anderson, Jamestown, ND; 1 granddaughter, Amber (Will) McIntyre, Ypsilanti, ND; 3 great granddaughters, Isabella, Aubrie, and Emerie; 2 sisters, Viola Bertsch, Lakeland, FL and Lenora Woehl, Bismarck, ND; in-laws, Christine Wolf, Germany; Wynona (Bill) Jebb, Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 7 sisters.
Memorial Service- 11:00 AM Monday November 8, 2021 in the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND, with Rev. Tom Eckstein, officiating.
