Mary Fick, age 64, of Litchville, ND, died Sunday, December 26th at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND. A memorial service for Mary will be held at a later date in the spring.
Mary Lou Sobeski, the daughter of Norman and Esther (Bohnenkamp) Sobeski, was born July 17, 1957 in Lisbon, ND. She grew up and attended school in Lisbon and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1976. Mary Lou was united in marriage to Jerome Fick on July 6, 1990. With this union, she was blessed with becoming a stepmother to Daryl and Travis Fick. She loved these two boys like they were her own. Mary’s employment included Bobcat in Gwinner and Dietary Director and Cook at Parkside Lutheran Home. She was very proud of getting her CDL License where she drove team and solo for Fick and Sons Trucking. She also team drove with Jerome for Hofmann Trucking and Hobby Lobby. Upon Jerome’s retirement, Mary started cooking at the ND Veteran’s Home in Lisbon. Mary’s greatest Joy was accepting Jesus as her savior and she and Jerome enjoyed attending church services together. Mary and Jerome were inseparable and enjoyed riding motorcycle and taking many road trips together. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and their dog Maggie. She also loved flowers, yardwork and cooking.
Mary is survived by her husband Jerome, Litchville, ND; two children, Daryl (Nicole), Sanborn, ND and Travis (Tracy) Hennings, MN; her grandchildren, Samantha, Nathan, Courtnie Fick, Hailey and Marcus Sigman and Dealia and Brandon Grabe; her sister, Carol (Gerald) Pischel, Beulah, ND; her brother, Walter Smith, Rock River, WY; brother-in-law, Dennis (Liz) Fick, Litchville, ND; mother-in-law, Leone Fick, LaMoure, ND; many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law, Harold “Buster” Fick and two brothers Duane Smith and Dale Smith and two sisters Donna Pahl and Dorothy Larson.
