David Woodrow Powers, 75, passed away on Dec 30, 2021, at Aurora Memorial Hospital in Aurora, CO following a brief illness.
David was born in Burbank, California to Helen (Gums) Powers of Jamestown, ND and Woodrow Wilson Powers of Comanche, OK on February 20, 1946. David was raised in Jamestown, ND and attended Jamestown public schools. He was also an active member of United Methodist Church (formerly EUB).
David was a 1964 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended Wahpeton State before moving to Lodi, CA in the late 60’s where he worked for various manufacturing companies. In midlife David relocated to Denver, CO, working as a printer’s assistant. He was injured in an industrial accident in the early 90’s that prevented continued employment.
He had resided at Lowry Hills Rehabilitation Center in Aurora, CO for the last five years where his gentle nature and friendly demeanor will be missed.
David is survived by his brother Clifford Powers of Redmond, OR and a niece, Prism Powers of Denver, CO. A celebration of life is planned for later this year in Jamestown.
