KANSAS CITY, Mo  (UJ)  .– The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has officially announced the qualifiers for the 2022 Men’s Volleyball National Championship. The 12 team field will begin play on April 12 at the final site in Des Moines, Iowa at the MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex.

The Jimmies (19-5) are the eighth seed and are in Pool A with top seed Grand View (Iowa) University and ninth-seeded Aquinas (Mich.) UJ opens pool play on April 13 against Aquinas at 7 p.m. and finish with Grand View on April 14 at 7 p.m.

The format of the tournament will include three days of pool play (four pools of three teams), with the top team in each pool advancing to a single-elimination tournament. Each team will play one match against the two other teams in its pool. A total of three matches (per pool) will be conducted on each of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of the tournament. The top team in each pool will advance to Friday’s semifinal matches, while the National Championship final will be played on Saturday.

All pool play matches will be streamed on the NAIA Network and the semifinals and the championship will be streamed on ESPN3.
