(PlayNorthStar.com) – Valley City State University freshman Kendra Odegard is the North Star Athletic Association Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

North Star Athletic Association Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Kendra Odegard – Valley City State (N.D.) – Freshman – Lisbon, N.D. – Odegard won the women’s javelin throw with a national qualifying mark in her second straight meet for Valley City State (N.D.) in the Minnesota-Morris Cougar Invitational.  She threw 40.35 meters (132 feet, 4 inches), capturing the javelin throw title by more than 10 feet.  It was her second straight javelin individual title.  Odegard added a personal record 27.53 meters (90 feet, 4 inches) discus throw mark to finish 16th. Her top javelin throw this season (41.54 meters) ranks her 7th in the entire NAIA.

North Star Athletic Association Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Josie Wolf – Dakota State (S.D.) – Senior – Wentworth, S.D. – Wolf competed in three different events in the NCAA Division I outdoor track & field meet, the University of South Dakota Early Bird, for Dakota State (S.D.).  She ran the eighth fastest 200-meter dash in school history by running a time of 25.94 seconds.  Her time is also the fastest time in the North Star conference.  Wolf added a time of 12.80 seconds in the 100-meter dash, the second fastest time in the conference.  She also ran a leg on the 4 x 400-meter relay team, which recorded the top time in the NSAA (4 minutes, 8.76 seconds).
