Bismarck (Job Service) – Job Service ND reported that labor statistics released April 14 show ND’s March not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.3 percent. The unemployment rate increased 0.2 of a percentage point between February and March. March 2021’s rate was 1.6 percentage points higher than the current rate.
Between February 2022 and March 2022 unemployment rose by 645, an increase of 5.1 percent. North Dakota typically sees a small decrease in unemployment numbers between February and March. The over-the-year decrease (March 2021 to March 2022) in unemployed labor force was 6,414, a loss of 32.5 percent.
The national not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for March was 3.8 percent. It was 4.1 percent the prior month and 6.2 percent the prior year.
