Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City Council’s Public Works Committee committee unanimously recommended Thursday to have the city council consider approval of up to $3,000 to conduct a hydraulic study of the MGM Trailer Courts. When the study is completed, City Engineer Travis Dillman said they would bring the results and possible recommendations for the city for approval.
After 24 hours of water inundation, the water dissipates, but following the flooding, problems linger.
At the Fire & Police Committee meeting, City Fire Chief Jim Reuther reported that earlier this year the department was kept busy. Currently the fire department continues with inspections.
At The Police Committee meeting, Assistant Police Chief Major Justin Blinsky said they recently had an officer complete training to become a Drug Recognition Expert.
The police department is also participating in two traffic safety enforcements.and is issuing “junk” violations.
Also at the meeting Central Valley Health District Director of Health Promotions Shannon Klatt gave an overview of the their 2021 annual report. Total revenue for CVHD in 2021 was just over $3 million with expenses averaging $211,000 a month.
The report also provided an overview of how health district worked through the COVID-19 pandemic in Stutsman and Logan Counties.
Council member Dan Buchanan and Mayor Dwaine Heinrich thanked Klatt and Central Valley Health District for their work during the pandemic and working with other community partners.
