HETTINGER, N.D. (AP) — Officials say the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the use of deadly force on a man by a Hettinger County sheriff’s deputy inside a school. A release from the Hettinger County Sheriff’s Office Friday says a deputy responded to a disturbance at Mott-Regent public school about 3 p.m. Thursday and made contact with a man who refused to leave the property. The statement said the encounter escalated into an assault on the deputy resulting in a “lethal force scenario.” Officials identified the man who died as Jeffrie Ray Glover Jr. No other details were provided by sheriff’s officials.
