Jamestown  (City)  Due to the recent water levels, the Jamesotnw City Sewer Department would like to remind residents to run sump pump water into the storm drain system by placing sump pump hoses out to the curb.

The City of Jamestown Municipal Code states as follows:
Sec. 30-36. – Draining rain, surface or ground water into sewers prohibited.
a) No person shall permit rain, surface, or ground waters to be carried into the sewer system. Rainwater leaders shall not be connected with or run into the sewer system.
(b) Drain tile, sump pumps or other systems designed to eliminate the accumulation of seepage or other ground waters shall not be connected with or run into the sewer system.
