UPDATE

Jamestown (NDHP) The North Dakota Highway Patrol Wednesday, released the names of those involved in the two vehicle crash that took the life of a UPS driver.

The updated report stated, 37 year-old Ross Bergquist was traveling south on Highway 281 in his UPS truck when he came up on a fuel tanker turning east at around 9:45 AM. Bergquist attempted to swerve to the west ditch to avoid the tanker, but rear-ended it in the process.

Bergquist was extricated and then transported to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The fuel tanker driver, 52 year-old Christopher Anderson was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

They were assisted on scene by the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Area Ambulance, Service and Jamestown Fire and Rescue.

Jamestown (NDHP)– A 37 year old man is dead after his UPS truck collided with a fuel tanker south of Jamestown on Tuesday, morning September 20.

The Highway Patrol reports that, the driver of the tanker was southbound on Highway 281 and began slowing to make a left hand turn to the east when the UPS truck approached from behind at around 9:45 AM on Highway 281. The UPS truck attempted to swerve to the west ditch to avoid the tanker turning to the east in front of him.

The UPS truck rear-ended the Volvo tanker in the southbound lane and continued southwest into the west ditch, coming to rest facing the southwest.

The 37 year-old driver of the UPS truck had to be extricated before being transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital. 52 year-old Christopher Anderson, the driver of the fuel tanker, was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Jamestown (CSi) Two trucks crashed in the 4000 block of Highway 281 South. Jamestown Fire and Rescue responded Monday morning at 9:54am. One driver was taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center. Jamestown Fire & Rescue was on scene for 40 minutes.

From the ND Dakota Highway Patrol report:

The driver of the Volvo was southbound on Highway 281and began slowing to make a left hand turn to the east around MM 64.2. The Freightliner was traveling southbound behind the Volvo. The Freightliner attempted to swerve to the west ditch to avoid the Volvo turning to the east, in front of him. The Freightliner rear ended the Volvo in the southbound lane of Highway 281. The Volvo completed its turn coming to rest in the driveway facing east. The Freightliner continued southwest into the west ditch coming to rest facing SW.

Per the ND Highway Patrol Report: a 37 year old male from Jamestown, driver of the Freightliner, died as results of injuries in the crash.
