Jamestown (CSi) This year Jamestown amateur radio club was recognized for being affiliated with ARRL a national radio organization dedicated to promoting ham radio for 75 years. Making JARC the oldest affiliated club in North Dakota. To celebrate the occasion the club had a picnic in McElroy Park.

Jamestown amateur radio club for many years has work closely with the weather service in Bismarck and Grand Forks to provide training and ground truth when weather threatens Stutsman County and surrounding communities.

This year we were able to bring testing for radio licenses back to Jamestown. Allowing people interested in getting involved in radio a much easier opportunity to get their new license or upgrade for more privileges.

The radio club for the last few years has been involved in working with scouts to communicate with other scout troops around the world as part of an event called Jamboree on the air (JOTA). There are plans started to expand this with some new fun outings involving radio, GPS, and compass navigation skills.  Giving the scouts hands-on experience.

If anyone is interested in learning more about what we have going on or getting involved.  Our website is www.jarcnd.com
