Eugene T. Rexine, 85, Lehr, ND died Monday October 3, 2022 at the Wishek Community Hospital in Wishek, ND.
Gene was born June 7, 1937 at Jamestown, ND, the son of Theodore and Agnes (Brophy) Rexine. He attended St. John’s Academy in Jamestown and later received his GED. He worked on area farms, mostly for Angela & Gus Wiese.
He entered the National Guard April 23, 1953 and was discharged June 25, 1954. He then entered the US Marine Corp January 1, 1956 and served until September 18, 1959 and was discharged with the rank of CPL E-4.
He made his home in Denver, CO after marrying Marjorie Morton. They to Jamestown, ND and later bought a dairy farm near Robinson, ND. In this period of his life, he had 3 children, and continued to drive truck.
Gene and Lucille Ruff were married April 20, 2004 at Reno, NV and made their home in Lehr, ND where he has continued to reside.
Gene is survived by his wife, Lucille Ruff-Rexine, Lehr, ND; 2 daughters, Anna (Solomon) Uwujiye, St. Helen, OR; Pamela (Gideon) Oshike, Jamestown, ND; 1 son, Kelly (Chasity) Rexine, Baker, OR; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 stepchildren, Kristi Entzi, Fredonia, ND; Tammy (Bruce) Meidinger, Wishek, ND; Gerald (Darcy) Ruff, Lehr, ND; Jacqueline Klipfel, Ashley, ND; 10 step grandchildren; 15 great-step-grandchildren; and his brothers and sisters, Audrey Heier, Fargo, ND; Joyce Gorman Boston, MA; Claudia Rexine, Woodland, CA; Gerald Rexine, Jamestown, ND; William Rexine, Emily, MN; Gary Rexine, Green Valley, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Joseph Rexine, Evelyn Remmick, Leroy Rexine, and Lois David.
Mass of Christian Burial – 10:30 AM Monday October 10, 2022 in the Basilica of St. James, Jamestown, ND
Burial – 11:00 AM Tuesday October 11, 2022 at the ND Veteran’s Cemetery, Mandan, ND
