Darlene Heintz, 84, Jamestown, ND died Fri March 3 at Edgewood in Jamestown.
Darlene was born Feb 19, 1939 at Sykeston, ND, the daughter of Edward and Loretta (Schaack) Sondag. She attended Sykeston public school and graduated from Sykeston High School in 1957. She attended Interstate Business College and graduated in 1958. Darlene worked at Gate City Savings and Loans in Carrington as a teller and insurance agent until 1960 when she worked at Foster County State Bank until 1965.
Darlene and Zeno Heintz were married May 18, 1963 at Sykeston, ND. They made their home in Carrington where she was a house wife raising her children. In 1970 they move to Jamestown. In 1986 she went to work at the Jamestown hospital in medical records until 1988 when she went to work at the ND State hospital doing insurance and accounts receivables until 2004 when she retired. Following the death of her husband April 14, 2020, she entered Edgewood in Jamestown.
Darlene was a member of the Basilica of St. James, was a Sunday school teacher and church office worker for several years, member of the Tabernacle, St. Johns Circle for 45 years. She was an avid bowler and reader, and loved visiting with her family.
She is survived by 5 children, Lori (Curtis) Graves, Jamestown, ND; Mark (Michele) Heintz, Apex, NC; Karen (Brad) Hillman, East Grand Forks, MN; Brian (Michelle) Heintz, Lakeville, MN; Wade (Jennifer) Heintz, Savage, MN; 11 grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Graves, Hannah Hillman, Bailee Bennett, Alyssa and Brynn Hillman, Emily, Addison, Rachel, Mason and Mikayla Heintz, 2 great grandchildren; 3 brothers and 5 sisters, Mary Kapaun, Joan (Jim) Schmidt, Diane (Dennis) Hafner, Gary (Vikki) Sondag, Dean (Cheryl) Sondag, Kathleen Sondag, Janet Wrolstad and Randy Sondag.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 brother, Jerome Sondag and 1 sister, Carol Tharaldson.
