Hello Folks! We, in Valley City, are Blessed to have one of three relatively unaltered Carnegie Libraries in North Dakota.  Our majestic library was built in 1903 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.  March 16th, from 1-4, “Light Up the Library” open house and fundraiser will be hosted at the library.  Come for treats, visit friends and tour the beautiful facility.

Congratulations and thank you to the North Dakota Winter Show (NDWS) Manager Brandee Moore, the NDWS Staff and its Board of Directors for bringing the 87th North Dakota Winter Show to Valley City.  With numerous vendors and great crowds, it was wonderful.  Thank you again.

Thank you Ben Lokken, one of our city employees, who recently earned the North Dakota Level 4 Water Treatment Plant (WTP) License.  Our water treatment plant is a Level 4 facility and the Level 4 License is the highest one can achieve in North Dakota.  Congratulations Ben.

Women’s History Month, please research Wilma Rudolph & Anne Frank.

Last week we thanked all the students involved in the winter competition seasons.  This week is a shout out to all the coaches, officials and judges who help administer contests in an orderly fashion.  Coaching and officiating are great for “giving back” to sports and fine arts that afforded us life’s lessons and entertainment over time.  Thank you a bunch to all coaches, officials and judges who give of themselves for our youth.

Please remember to place your garbage containers with the handle facing the curb and remember the truck cannot pick the container off the snow bank.

Clean-up Week will be here before we know it.  To be picked up, materials must be piled separately as different trucks will be picking up different materials.  Watch for further information from media outlets, city messaging and https://www.valleycity.us/sanitation-garbage/

Thanks to all who provide and proof material for this article.
