The Valley City State Softball team will be playing its home opener this weekend against Dakota State at the VCSU Softball Complex.
 
Due to Sunday’s forecasted weather, the series will now be played on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s games will be played at 3 and 5 p.m. and Saturday’s games are slated for 1 and 3 p.m.
 
The VCSU Softball team will also recognize seniors Sierra Crocker, Joelle Lamontagne and Saige Forseth following Saturday’s doubleheader.

The Vikings are coming off a 4-game sweep over Viterbo to sit at 16-15 overall and 8-3 in the North Star. The Trojans are 5-16 on the season and 2-6 in conference play.
