BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – An advocacy group intends to help spread the word to homeless people in North Dakota about insurance marketplaces created by the Affordable Care Act.
Enrollment for the online marketplaces opens Tuesday under the federal health care act championed by President Barack Obama.
North Dakota Coalition for Homeless People executive director Michael Carbone says educating the soaring number of homeless people flocking to oil-rich North Dakota is a colossal challenge for so-called navigators. The navigators are charged with finding uninsured residents and inform them of their options under the new law.
Carbone says homeless people in North Dakota may be overlooked despite well-intentioned outreach efforts funded by the federal government.
North Dakota is among 36 states where the federal government will run the marketplace under the new law.

Most horses sold for about $450 each. Proceeds after commission go back to the park for the horse program.
Many of the horses were purchased in an orchestrated effort among groups and individuals to keep them out of kill barns. Nearly three dozen will be transported to Legacy Mustang conservancy in Virginia, where they will be trained and some will be adopted.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota wildlife officials say conditions are good for duck hunting throughout most of the state.

The duck hunting season opened last weekend for residents. It opened this weekend for nonresidents. It runs through Dec. 1.
State migratory game bird biologist Mike Szymanksi (shuh-MAN’-skee) says most areas are wetter than last year, but hunters should always scout areas first because of changing conditions and waterfowl patterns.
