CSi – Jamestown’s newest Fire Rescue Truck arrived in Jamestown on September 4, 2024. The new rescue truck was order two years earlier.

It was built by Rosenbauer in Lyons, SD. The 2023 Freightliner chassis was the delayed by COVID and arrived one year later. Rosenbauer is also the company that build the ladder truck.

Rosenbauer built the rescue truck per Jamestown Fire department needs in the new truck. Chief Reuther and other members traveled down several times, to inspect the new Fire Rescue Unit during construction.

The Rescue truck has new equipment installed that will make rescues fast and efficiently. Equipment like a PTO generator rated at 15,000kw. Turret lighting that can turn 360 degrees at night, and Cameras that show each side of the Rescue unit when turning. The only piece of equipment from the old rescue truck is a gas generator with low hours on it.

The cab is an open design, where all firefighters can hear commands. The older unit had some fire fighters outside the cab. The truck holds 8 firefighters.

Fire Chief Reuther said the new Fire Rescue Truck was purchased at $580,000. Today, if you would order one the starting cost would be $700,000.

An Open house will be planned in future for the public to see it stocked and ready for calls.
